Property tax/rent rebate deadline extended to Dec. 31
HARRISBURG — The deadline to apply for Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate program has been extended to Dec. 31, 2026, giving eligible residents additional time to seek relief for property taxes or rent paid in 2025.
Rebate payments will begin July 1 for approved applicants, as required by law.
The program provides financial assistance to residents age 65 and older, widows and widowers age 50 and older, and people with disabilities age 18 and older. Applicants must reapply each year based on income and eligible expenses.
Maximum standard rebates range from $380 to $1,000, depending on income. The current income limit for applicants is $48,110.
More than 400,000 applications have already been submitted this year, though officials say many eligible residents have yet to apply.
Applications can be completed online or in person at various assistance locations across the state.
