Commissioners accept director of elections’ resignation

MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata County Commissioners approved the 2027 resignation of Juniata County Voter Registrar/Director of Elections Eva Weyrich on Tuesday morning. Effective as of the end of business on Dec. 31, 2027, Weyrich will step down from her position. She will have been a director for roughly 40 1/2 years by the time she retires next year. According to Weyrich, she hopes her early resignation submission will allow Juniata County Commissioners plenty of time to hire the right person for Weyrich to train before her departure.
