Lewistown man cited for causing crash

MIFFLINTOWN — On Sunday, June 15, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a two vehicle crash just off Arch Rock exit around 5:30 p.m.

According to the report, a 2009 GMC Canyon operated by 31-year-old Owen Criag of Lewistown was traveling west on US Highway 322 when he left the roadway on the left side and impacted with the concrete median resulting in one of the tires of his vehicle falling off and traveling into the path of a 2021 Nissan Frontier being operated by Michael Kochara, 62 of Asheville.

The report states that Kochara was unable to avoid the collision and impacted with the tire.

Following the impact both vehicles came to final rest off the roadway.

The GMC Canyon received disabling damages and was towed from the scene by Geedey’s Towing.

The Nissan received minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Craig was cited through Magisterial District Judge Tracy Powell’s office for this incident.

Police seek information on found kayak

MIFFLINTOWN — A lime green kayak was reportedly found floating down the Juniata River on Monday. Police are seeking the kayak’s owner. Anyone with information is asked to call (717) 320-1010.

Owner of bicycle sought

MIFFLINTOWN — According to a report, police were dispatched to the area of Industrial Park Road, Walker Township, where a purple huffy bicycle was found on Monday, June 16 around 8 a.m.
