Owners Tom and Michele Kapinus took ownership of 307 W. Freedom Ave. in October and renovated the building before their April 7 ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Michele shared that they have owned the business since 2018, and Tom has worked in the industry for more than 20 years.

Tom’s Swimming Pools designs and installs in-ground pools, sells and installs above-ground pools, sells hot tubs and spas, offers repairs and maintenance, installs/replaces pool liners, sells pool supplies and more.

Michele said that Tom creates 3-D models to help customers achieve their dream pool, aligning with the business’s motto, “making your backyard dreams come true.”

The business also offers customers a free “pool school” in May to educate them on pool maintenance.

She added that Tom delivers on the full-service aspect of the business by completing jobs such as creating a simple pool design that allowed a child with a disability to enjoy the pool with ease. This design featured a raised platform in the pool with steps on either side.

“We really treat our customers like family,” Michele said.

Aside from treating customers like family, Michele and Tom work alongside their sons Cy and Sam Kapinus.

Store hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
