Left’s tax policies unfair to Americans

To the editor: The only thing blatantly wrong being printed in The Sentinel is the left’s denial of how their policies crush everyday Americans. In 2009 there were approximately 300,000 people in the U.S. who made more than $1 million per year. In 2020 that number rose to almost 700,000. So, if the IRS hires 86,000 new agents that would be approximately eight millionaires that each new agent would have to scrutinize and probe per year. If you’re a Democrat, this may seem normal. Even at one investigation per millionaire per month, what are they doing the other four months of the ...

Taxpayers should not be paying student loans

To the editor: I went to college nursing school. It took two years for my diploma as a Registered Nurse. I worked hard for that diploma! I worked weekends at a small local grocery store to help buy gas for my car and any other small amount of spending that I needed. My parents didn’t have the extra money to pay for my college. As a matter of fact, my brother and sister were in college the same time. We applied for the loans we needed to complete the education of our choosing. When we graduated, we paid back every penny that we committed to. I value my education that I worked hard ...

Climate change reality

To the editor: The Democrats are in trouble when it comes to the November election. Thus, they use fear and half-truths and issues taken out of context in effort to change voters’ minds. Blame Putin has been used up, climate change has taken over. I believe in climate change, but just how serious is it? Trump met our 2025 climate change goals during his administration. China and India plan to build 1,200 new coal fired electric plants to provide quick, cheap electric power to their 3 billion people. I don’t blame them. China states their greenhouse emissions will “peak” in ...

Individual, states’ rights vs. federal law

To the editor: This is a reply to Mr. Geedey’s letter in the Aug. 27 edition of The Sentinel. There are 195 countries in the world Mr Geedey. You forgot to mention there are just three countries that give citizens the constitutional right to bear arms: the United States, Mexico and Guatemala. Not France, not Russia. America is unique in that our citizens own more guns per capita by far than any other country. When I was young on the first day of deer season, Pennsylvania had the third largest standing army in the world with over one million hunters in our woods. It is unique to ...

Not really trying to coexist

To the editor: I believe the current federal administration is trying hard to shift this country far from our founding principles. The mainstream media cries national security concerns when Donald Trump’s name comes up, but not when our current president’s open border policy allows terrorists, drug traffickers, human traffickers and a completely unmanageable number of possibly really nice people to invade our country. The resulting chaos has nothing to do with compassion for immigrants or the American people. It is a Marxist coup designed to undermine our God-given, ...

I don’t want an electric car

To the editor: I do not want an electric vehicle. Arthur Keller had an excellent letter in The Sentinel where he described the drawbacks of buying and owning an EV. I have written letters disclaiming the so-called advantages of EVs and how they are supposed to help the environment. When you consider the pollution created to produce EVs and the batteries that power them, I question how it helps the planet to produce and drive them using today’s technology. Let us look at another aspect of the practicality of this subject, and that of so-called green energy. Most of the batteries ...
