To the editor:
I do not want an electric vehicle.
Arthur Keller had an excellent letter in The Sentinel where he described the drawbacks of buying and owning an EV. I have written letters disclaiming the so-called advantages of EVs and how they are supposed to help the environment.
When you consider the pollution created to produce EVs and the batteries that power them, I question how it helps the planet to produce and drive them using today's technology.
Let us look at another aspect of the practicality of this subject, and that of so-called green energy.
Most of the batteries and solar panels etc. are produced in China where they get most of their electricity from coal-powered plants. And they are building more of them every day. How does it help the world if we in the U.S. penalize ourselves with severe restrictions while China does not?
And they are not the only nation with the same sort of policies. India is another nation just as bad as China and there are others. What do we accomplish other than to hurt ourselves economically? We make ourselves less competitive in the world market and lower our own living standards.
And as I have said before, and offered proof, green energy is not all that green.
Let's talk now about the hypocrisy of those on the left who tell us we have to change our ways to save the planet. I'm talking about those in Hollywood who who fly around the world in their private jets to enjoy themselves and on occasion talk down to us common folks that we don't do enough to protect the planet.
Then there are those who are political leaders, and I use the term loosely, who have great compounds and use more energy than a small town and also fly around the world on private jets to attend meetings and then tell us we have to find a way to restrict ourselves and cut back to save the planet.
To them I say, you cut back, set and example and then maybe I will take you seriously.
The truth is, man-made climate change is a hoax. It is a political scam by left-wing socialists to try to gain complete control over the people. They use foolish people and ungodly people to get them to worship the planet, God's creation, rather than the Creator.
I have some books people need to read. First is the Bible. Read it cover to cover. It will explain the past and let you know who and what you are, also who God is, all He has done and what He will do.
Another book to read, which explains what to expect in the future, is The End of the Age: The Countdown Has Begun by John Hagee. God is in control of the climate and all things. If after reading the prescribed texts or at any time during the process you feel the need when the Holy Spirit moves you, and you realize the fact that you are a sinner, which we all are, and you need salvation, just take time out and go to God in prayer and admit to Him who and what you are and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and you will no longer have to worry about the future.
