Writer’s concept leaves questions To the Editor: Letter-writer Stephen Sellers recently wrote that no one needs to worry about climate change because God is in control. Wow! What a concept! I could not help but think that this would be the perfect solution for all those stressed-out MAGA- Republicans. There are so many “woke” issues that have them losing sleep. Think about the more than 2,000 who stormed the Capitol on Jan 6. These Trumpers were wound way too tightly. If they had only known that God was in control, they could have stayed home, avoided a criminal record, opened a ...

It’s time to step up Legacy. It’s a heavy word. It’s what others will think, feel and believe about us after we are gone. A person’s legacy speaks to how they invested their time in this one short life. Once one reaches 60s, Legacy becomes the priority...more years behind than ahead. “Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” I’m not interested in squandering this life...What say you? Is all speech free? Free speech is a double edged sword. Normally we say what we feel without concern, even though it conflicts with what others believe. Every now and then free speech is used with ignorance combined with disrespect for one of the pillars for which free speech was incorporated in our constitution. That being freedom of religion! What ignorance can not understand is that basic human values that most people live by are taught in all religions via story and legend. Faith in a supreme being and lessons of right and wrong are fundamental. The he said she said varies by ...

Points made are hypocritical This is in response to Mr. King’s letter published on March 2, 2023 in The Sentinel. I would like to ask him a few questions concerning whether or not he believes the Bible. First, the Bible states that you should not eat shellfish as they are unclean. Does every person who claims to be a Christian that follows the Bible eat shellfish, or what about the wearing of mixed cloth? I also wonder if they believe in slavery. I mean, the Bible does say a father can sell his children into slavery. One of the commandments states thou shalt not kill, yet the ...

Stop worrying about climate, God is in control To the Editor: First off, I want to give my commendation to Mr. Keller of Beavertown for a fine letter he had in The Sentinel on Feb. 27, 2023. I agree wholeheartedly with everything he had to say. The transportation czar did finally make it to the site of the train wreck the other day but I am sure it was after he wrote the letter and he didn’t do anything to help the situation anyway. Another thing that liberals continue to push is their green energy which is not really green anyway, as I have written about before. Check out my ...
