Is all speech free?

Free speech is a double edged sword. Normally we say what we feel without concern, even though it conflicts with what others believe.

Every now and then free speech is used with ignorance combined with disrespect for one of the pillars for which free speech was incorporated in our constitution. That being freedom of religion!

What ignorance can not understand is that basic human values that most people live by are taught in all religions via story and legend. Faith in a supreme being and lessons of right and wrong are fundamental. The he said she said varies by culture. The stories are similar and the lessons are the same in all religions. It's what makes most of the world civilized.

Can those who don't believe and are without religion possess basic human values? Can they respect others who believe? Will they somehow have to pay for their ignorance?
