are hypocritical
This is in response to Mr. King's letter published on March 2, 2023 in The Sentinel. I would like to ask him a few questions concerning whether or not he believes the Bible. First, the Bible states that you should not eat shellfish as they are unclean.
Does every person who claims to be a Christian that follows the Bible eat shellfish, or what about the wearing of mixed cloth? I also wonder if they believe in slavery. I mean, the Bible does say a father can sell his children into slavery. One of the commandments states thou shalt not kill, yet the Bible is full of stories in which God killed. Kinda hypocritical, don't you think? You can't kill, but I can. Let's look at the death sentence and the command that God gave: "If anyone takes the life of a human being, he must be put to death." Funny that because it is saying commit murder on the person that committed murder in the first place. Again, that is being hypocritical. If everyone who killed someone else was put to death, that includes military personnel and the police officers that have killed someone. I would also point out some contradictions in the Bible before they decide to cherry pick other things.
Everyone knows that, according to the Bible, Jesus was the only man to live without sin yet according to Ecclesiastes 7:20, There is not a righteous man on Earth who continually does good and never sins. So which is it: Jesus sinned or he did not? Or what about Noah, who, according to Genesis 6:9 was also "blameless." Or what about the word that was spread when the tomb of Jesus was found empty, according to both Luke 24:9 and Matthew 28:8 the women spread the news yet according to Mark 16:8 they said nothing, so which is it?
Another one is that no one sees God both John 4:12 and 1 Timothy 6:16 state that, yet Genesis 18:1 has God appearing to Abraham in his tent and Exodus 33:11 has God appearing to Moses face to face, again which is it no one sees God or just a select few who in the modern world would be classed as having a mental illness. In finishing, let me say this before you claim that God said this or that, how about you do the same thing that you claimed that Gov. Shapiro has not done and read the Bible, contradictions and all.
