The Earth is not your personal garbage can To the Editor: Today’s balmy temperatures motivated me to get out of the house for a Sunday afternoon walk. Knowing that I would encounter some trash along the way, I grabbed a large trash bag. I could get some exercise and pick up a little garbage at the same time, a win – win activity that would be good for both my personal health and the health of my surroundings. Within less than a quarter of a mile on my journey, the trash bag was bulging. As I found myself stopping to bend over more than walking, I also found myself shaking my head ...

GOD, knowing the heart of man, gave a warning in the twenty second chapter of Revelation about adding to or taking away from that book of Prophesy (Rev.22:18-19). Since this was the book that completed ...

Thanks to volunteers ready for emergencies To the Editor: I was driving home from work at midnight on 305 toward Belleville. There was a huge pine tree right across the road. I called 911 to report the issue. Within a very short time, a number of volunteers from McAlevys Fort fire were there cleaning up with chainsaws, man/woman power just buzzing on scene. As I watched them working hard, I thought that I never really think about these emergencies that these folks are so ready to come out and help. Saturday night into Sunday was so cold and windy. So to our ...
