MIDDLEBURG – The Midd-West High School golf team picked up a victory in its season opener on Tuesday, defeating Warrior Run, 178-194 in a nine-hole Heartland Athletic Conference golf match at Shade Mountain Golf Course.

The Mustangs were led by Jullian Krainak, who shot a 41 (+5). Kyle Beward and Noah Bogush each shot 43s for Midd-West while Nick Whitesel rounded out the Top 4 with a score of 51.

Warrior Run’s Hanna Rob carded the best score of the day, shooting even par with a 36. Mason Sheesly shot a 48, Reagan Campbell shot a 54 and Kaelyn Watson carded a 56 for the visitors.

Midd-West returns to action on Friday when it faces Central Columbia.
