Calendar

The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

Please be brief and include only basic details. If possible, provide a phone number or email address to be published with contact information.

Saturday

• LHS Class of 1958 breakfast — 9 a.m., Sal-lee’s Dream, Strodes Mills. Classmates, spouses and friends are invited. Information: (717) 994-7383.

• Yard sale and bake sale — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., East Salem Community Church. Proceeds go to missions to help local families in need.

• Central Pa Food Bank — 9:30-11 a.m., White Memorial Church fellowship hall, Milroy. Bring your own box, bag or containers. Income guidelines apply. Information: kishdco@gmail.com or (717) 348-4248.

Sunday

• Bingo fundraiser — 1 p.m., doors open at 11 a.m., Heritage Fire Co. Pre-sale tickets are available for $25 or $30 the day of the event. Concession stand, raffle tickets and rip tickets will be sold. Information: (717) 250-7462.

• Movie screening — 2 p.m., Miller Cinema Six, Lewistown. “Glory” (1989 movie). Introduction by Mifflin County Historical Society President Forest Fisher, including connections to the African-American Memorial Cemetery. Tickets are $5 with donation made to the Mifflin County Historical Society. Limited seating. No reservations.

• Bingo — Doors open at 4 p.m. Bingo starts at 5 p.m., Lewistown Elks Lodge, 229 W. Third St., Lewistown. Rip tickets will be sold. Short order menu available for purchase.

Brief reports of reunions and class reunion photos with the people identified in the order in which they appear are accepted for publication in the Saturday Living section and should be sent to living@lewistownsentinel.com.
