LEWISTOWN — More than 100 children took part in the Amanda J. Carolus Memorial Fishing Derby hosted Saturday by the Granville Fire Company at Malta Park.
The annual event welcomed children ages 12 and younger for a morning of fishing, outdoor recreation and community activities.
Despite rainy and less-than-ideal weather conditions, families from across the area attended the free event, according to organizers.
Participants spent several hours fishing before prizes and trophies were awarded at the conclusion of the derby.
