Hershey will continue to work hard for us To the editor: I would like to publicly express my support for John Hershey in the upcoming Republican primary election for the 86th Legislative District of Pennsylvania. I have known John for many years. First as a student who I had the privilege of having in my class at Juniata High School, but also as a young man who I have watched serve the people of central Pennsylvania. I can assure you there is nobody who works harder for his constituents. This work ethic is something I saw from John as a student and without surprise, continue to see ...

Ridiculous law would be funny if it wasn’t real To the editor: Oh how I love it! This new law in Florida is wonderful in how it will saves our children from the man-made constructs of sexual orientation and gender identity. It is about time that we stop subjecting impressionable young minds to these unnatural categories that force them into accepting that they must become someone they are not. I am so glad, and I hope more states adopt this, that we can no longer teach our children that there are boys and girls, mothers and fathers, Misters and Missuses, him or hers. It is about ...

What if the deep state swayed the election? To the editor: As of March 17, 2022 and to the present, the New York Post has reported that the “Hunter Biden laptop is legitimate.” The emails and texts which were on the laptop show that the Biden family members were directly involved in the financial gains and influencial pedaling with the Chinese, Russian and Ukrainian governments. During the Trump administration, more than 50 Obama administration officials signed onto a letter outlining their belief that the disclosures of emails and texts allegedly belonging Joe Biden’s son ...

Banning transgender athletes is about bigotry

To the editor: This is in response to the letter published on April 21 by Mr. Spahr. First of all Mr. Spahr, the letter that was published by Mr. Becht did not impose a questionable choice of a trophy presentation, as you claimed but in fact called out the asinine claim that Republicans always state about transgender people having an “unfair” advantage in sports, which if you actually used some reading comprehension you would have seen. As for those states that enacted bans on transgender sports, that just shows the bigotry that is rampant in those states. As for you saying ...

Where would you draw the line, Mr. Becht? To the editor: Usually I try to keep my responses to the point and not deal with delusions. But today, I need to object to an absurd defense made by Mr. Becht where he would defend Lia Thomas, a male in full possession of his birth genitalia competing against females in athletic events. He adds to the transgender fallacy by his referral to that male swimming competitor as she and her. Mr. Becht falls into the trap set by left-wing indoctrinators when he confuses gender with sex as if they are the same. It matters not how many competitors were ...

Allowing trans athletes is unfair to girls, women To the editor: This is a reply to Eric Becht’s letter to the editor in the April 18 Sentinel. Mr. Becht, how arrogant of you to to impose a questionable choice of a trophy presentation. Your assumption that the majority of people must agree with the minority is wrong in every way possible. As of November 2021, 10 states have enacted a ban on transgender sports: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, South Dakota (by executive order), Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. There are many more coming. In every ...
