'Experts' don't always get everything right
To the editor:
A recent letter to the editor asked the question why be bigoted towards transgender people? The writer states that you're "born the wrong sex," and scientists claim a multitude of genders.
I have news for you. At one time experts claimed the earth was flat, that the sun revolved around the earth. In the 1850s the idea that rain follows the plow was presented and later proven false. Today some climate "experts" predict life as we know it will be changed in as little as 20 years. Most say by the end of this century. Who is right?
The claim of multiple genders by so called experts is dubious to say the least. You cannot be born the wrong sex. You are born with one of two organs that determines your sex, period! No tap backs, no returns, you get what you're born with.
From the Mayo Clinic: "Gender dysphoria is the feeling of discomfort or distress that might occur in people whose gender identity differs from their sex assigned at birth or sex-related physical characteristics."
Now, after you're born is another story. Your gray matter may send confusing signals. Your hormones may be imbalanced. You may feel differently than those around you. If you're told you have a choice, if you're manipulated at home or in school you may question your identity. It is not society's job to correct or accept this confusion. There are programs and clinics to address these situations. Or you may live your life as you wish but the fact remains there are only men and women, boys and girls, he and she, male and female!
As a non-expert, I would say that most people find the LBGTQ segment of our society that supports more than one gender is a perversion of historical and scientific evidence of two genders! What do you expect when a non-LBGTQ person is confronted with what they don't believe to be true, with what they have known all their lives to be facts? They not only don't want to change their beliefs, there is no need to change just to coddle a fractional portion of society that already has gender programs in place to help them. The minority yearning for multiple gender acceptance is irritating to people who find it contradictory to nature. This is not hate this is common sense. Normal is not confused. Abnormal is!
My advice is read more than one "expert" and get some help if you feel you're not normal.
