What the Second Amendment really means To the editor: I will not reply to the incoherent babble of the few in answer to our right to bear arms but instead I will offer copied comments from stated excerpts of fact attribitable to our founding fathers. To the editor: Can you hear it? I have. I have seen it in The Sentinel and across the United States. The progressive pendulum has reached it’s apex and is on the road to the scrap yard where it belongs. When your policies have failed completely, what do you do? Thank you, Urie To the editor: This coming Oct. 19, 2022 marks the 100th birthday of my father’s cousin, Urie Zook. But there will be no 100th birthday celebration. Urie was the son of Amish parents, Henry and Annie Zook of Belleville. Although Henry, a farmer and first-rate carpenter, was quite progressive for his time (the first Amishman in the area to use electricity, own a telephone, and drive a car), the family’s traditional Anabaptist roots required pacifism in time of war. Shooting in Texas shows sad state of affairs

To the editor: It is a very sad state of affairs when a teenager with a gun that meant for use in war, instead, walks into an elementary school to kill as many little kids as a coward can, and then, this horrible tragic act ends up on page 8 of my local newspaper. Is it so commonplace for 9-year-olds to be murdered en masse at school that it’s not even front page news anymore? Sad, sad, sad. Weak lawmakers refuse to act. So, we buy another gun... Why do guns have more rights than victims? To the editor: As I was watching the television (May 24) the program I was watching went to breaking news. Another school shooting, this time in Texas at an elementary school. Another 14 children and a teacher killed due to some idiot with a gun. I keep asking myself why is it that people who own guns don’t want anything done to try and prevent this from happening? Recent events make me proud to be ‘ultra MAGA’ To the editor: I am writing this letter to address the hoopla about the leak at the U.S. Supreme Court and a few other things as well. First, let me say I hope the leaker is found out and punished. I don’t know who it is and do not care. They should be disbarred and never allowed to practice law ever again.
