Food pantry to again offer free food for kids

To the editor: Thank you for providing this forum to share information. Again, this summer, the Juniata County Food Pantry is offering its Summer Backpack Program. Children who have completed any grade in the Juniata County School District this year from kindergarten through eighth are eligible to participate. Each student will receive food for 20 lunches for each of the three summer months. Why did Jesus have to be born to die? To the editor: Why did Jesus have to be born to die? Because God knew before he created anything what man would do and he had a plan to redeem himself a people (Matthew 25:34; 1 Peter 1:20; Revelation 13:8). Because of man’s sins there had to be atonement made to appease the wrath of God. Those redeemed had to be made holy. The sacrificial system of the Old Testament and the laws put in place to redeem one from bondage give insight to why Jesus had come. Is Mastriano’s ‘faith’ what Jesus has taught? To the editor: In my travels around Central Pa., I see many political signs for Doug Mastriano, who has won the Republican primary for Pa. governor. These signs include a scripture reference: John 8:36, which says “If the Son sets you free you are free indeed.” Mr. Mastriano has said “This is why my motto is ‘Walk as Free People.’” Mr. Mastriano has made his faith a cornerstone of his campaign.
