To the editor: I don’t live near the southern border, in fact, I live in Mifflin County. But at this point, I couldn’t ignore the crisis at the border even if I tried. Twenty-four hours in the news cycle rarely go by without some tragedy related to the border making headlines. The news of the abandoned tractor-trailer with over 60 people inside astonished me. To the editor: The average EV costs $54,000 today. Like any new software operating system, you don’t want to be the first to buy it or you will pay a dear price as the bugs are worked out. Here are some examples: • One purchases a used 2014 Ford Focus EV for $11,000. All goes well for 60,000 miles and then it dies. To the editor: The left promotes anarchy. They welcome an increase in gun violence as a means to promote an anti-gun agenda. They willfully defund police and refuse to prosecute criminals. What is a sovereign ruler?

To the editor: Within my lifetime I have heard much about and was even taught about countries and even states being sovereign. My understanding of what was meant by sovereign was that they had their own government with laws to rule over them. When I go to the dictionary to find a definition of sovereign, I find that for anything to be sovereign (country, state, person, etc) it must be one that possesses the highest authority without any outside control or influence. To the editor: Recently on the CBS evening news, one of the stories reported on was the Democrat’s “Inflation Reduction Act.” No Republicans voted for this bill. Although I was sickened about the blatant CBS bias expressed about how this bill will save Americans, I want to comment on just one part of what they did not report that was in the bill.
