To the editor:
Recently on the CBS evening news, one of the stories reported on was the Democrat's "Inflation Reduction Act." No Republicans voted for this bill. Although I was sickened about the blatant CBS bias expressed about how this bill will save Americans, I want to comment on just one part of what they did not report that was in the bill. The deception of this bill is criminal in my view. But who am I?
This bill authorized the hiring of 86,000 IRS agents which doubles its current ranks. Forget the fact that they may be armed and be required to use deadly force. The fact our Democrats in Congress want more people to monitor our checkbooks is outrageous. This is Big Brother at your bank and in your pocket.
It is none of their business if you want to give your neighbor boy $800 a year to shovel your walk and mow your grass. Anything over $600 paid to a person per year must be reported. Technically you have to provide him a 1099 tax form and file it with the IRS. That person must claim it as income and pay tax on it.
Is every transaction over $600 going to be scrutinized? Just what are these new 86,000 employees going to be looking for? As of 2020 there were 614 billionaires in the USA. Can't be just them -- they pay the most taxes now!
This amounts to 1,720 new IRS agents per state. Just think, now they will have the ability to watch everything you spend. More big government! Thank a Democrat.
They say this will increase tax revenue. So much for Biden's promise not to raise taxes on low income people. Projections out to 2035 estimate these agents are not sustainable and will cost more money than they bring in. Once a government job is created it almost never is deleted.
Just think, after just two years of Democrats and Biden your day may look like this. On your way home you see your daughter coming out of the free abortion clinic, you stop at the grocery store for some Ramen noodles, a head of cabbage and celery (all you can afford), then get shot at while you buy two gallons of gas because no police are around, you look in your mail box and your IRS letter tells you your fine is only $100 this month and then you're mugged on the way in the house (by a violent offender just released from jail). It's not all lost though, you end up in the hospital where you get a decent meal paid for by taxpayers.
You call Nancy Pelosi to beg for help. She is on her weekly trip home to California on her government-provided private plane. She can't come to the phone, she is eating her ice cream. We pay for that, too!
Is this the America you want? Thank a Democrat!
