We are resilient, amid changes To the editor: Read the front page headline in Tuesday’s Sentinel, “Holiday Sales Up 7.6% Despite Inflation Squeeze.” Looks like good news until you read the article to the end. Inflation is down to 7% from 9%. That is a move in the right direction, but a far cry from the 2 to 2.5% pre-pandemic rates. Dems seek one-party dictatorship Dear editor: I just heard a discussion on TV about the Biden Administration having plans to make the path to citizenship easier and simpler. Why would they want to do this? I will answer that question myself. Thank you for making Shop with a Cop a Success The Second annual Juniata-Mifflin County Shop with a Cop event took place on Wednesday, Dec. 14. We want to thank everyone who helped either financially, by volunteering their time, or by providing space to make the second annual event a great success. The Shop with a Cop event allowed 15 children from Mifflin and Juniata counties to spend time with law enforcement while shopping for themselves and their family members at Lewistown Walmart. A letter of thanks to Fire Department donors The auxiliary of Decatur Fire Company would like to take this opportunity to thank the generous donors at our benefit auction held recently. We usually help support the fire company with monies raised from rental of our dining hall “the cookhouse” and from meals that we serve. When COVID shut down those avenues of income, we still had bills to pay and still tried to help the fire company.
