What is Going On? To the Editor: What is going on in Washington DC? First, the red wave is not a wave but a small splash. Second, the remains of what had been what I thought was a cohesive Conservative party has become splintered. My concern for conservative objectives has been shaken. In honor of selfless acts and kindness To the Editor: I didn’t really know Lisa Long that well on a personal level. I grew up on Lewistown’s East End, and Lisa’s husband, Bob, lived near me. Bob always struck me as a very kind person even when he was a child, and it’s not really a big surprise that Bob and Lisa eventually found each other and created a wonderful family and life together. Birds of a feather flock together To the Editor: Tuesday’s Sentinel Editorial page (Jan. 3, 2022) contained two articles that were about resolutions. I mostly agree with the principles involved. We should respect others’ opinions and ideas, agree to disagree if you will. However, calling out religious beliefs (using the Bible as a “crutch” to support warped morals) is hardly respectful of others’ beliefs. Practicing tolerance in the new year To the Editor: It is the time for New Year’s resolutions. There must be true repentance To the Editor: When Jesus began His ministry in Galilee His message was “the kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe the gospel” (Mk. 1:15). Men and women need to repent because of the fall of Adam and the condition of their heart (inner person, the seat of thought and emotion).
