To the editor,
We need to turn a narrative on its head. From now on, I personally think that any discussion of abortion should be focused on the irresponsibility of the man that created the situation resulting in someone wanting an abortion (oftentimes the man). Why is it that people want to punish the provider? Punish the one that must endure the pregnancy and ultimately the responsibility for the offspring? It is the man that made the situation. He should be held responsible. Send him to jail!
Let's face the facts, reality, if the man would have been responsible with his body (his body, his choice) an abortion would never need to be a thought. There are many ways for men to avoid putting their sexual partner in the position of having to consider a life-altering decision (and/or having the government decide for her) regarding bringing a life into this world. Yet, here we are, once again, rich white men get to decide for someone else that they need to be burdened by the irresponsibility of what a man created!
To me, this is emblematic of what the Republican party has become. A band of misfits whining and crying about everyone other than themselves being responsible for their woes. The party of "personal responsibility" can't seem to shut up about how everyone is picking on them by acknowledging their illicit actions.
Seriously, anyone still on team Trump deserves all the embarrassment due them for wearing the star of a fool. Keep following this fool and you will most likely end up with the rest of the fools that follow, in jail! Do yourself a favor and change the channel, you just might learn that... it wasn't stolen, you just lost!

If you can't dazzle them...
To the editor:
A response to Mr. Becht's self induced delirium in Wednesday's (Jan. 18) Sentinel. I acknowledge his right to vent his frustration. Just a couple of points need to be addressed. The attorney General launched two "Classified Document" investigations for a reason, not because one incident was just and one incident was not. Both Biden and Trump appear to be guilty in my eyes and neither one deserves special treatment. The fact that Biden called Trump's actions "deplorable" while he knowingly already committed the same act prior to the election, is the Headline. Bark if you can Mr. Becht, your foot is in your mouth! This is the epitome of hypocrisy!
Just one more point. Early in President Biden's career he claimed multiple degrees, that he graduated top of his class, and he plagiarized numerous speeches. You probably voted for this compulsive liar and held him on a pedestal. He has not stopped lying his entire political career. Hopefully this will be confirmed by the new Republican House. Calling out Rep. Santos is the pot calling the kettle black! More hypocrisy!
It appears, Mr. Becht, you subscribe to the tried and true philosophy of, "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bunk." Good luck with that!
No politician of any party can claim to be pure of heart, selfless or without sin. It used to be asked, which is the better candidate? Today it's which candidate is less evil! We are all sliding down the slippery slope of declining moral values of which this country was founded on. Christian values were the base of the Constitution. Not atheists, not agnostics, not hedonists and certainly not those who indulge debauchery. Without the basic principles of our founders beliefs we will not survive.

Reveling in gratitude
To the editor:
I have lived in the U.S. for the past 11 years and I can honestly say that the opportunities I was afforded as an immigrant are nothing less than wonderful. I was welcomed into my small town community by kind, loving neighbors who quickly became friends.
Although I may not be an expert on the political scene here, I would like to comment on what I have observed on one side of the aisle.
Without naming any party, I have noticed a "we are smarter than you, we are better than you" presence/attitude.
It is hard to bring people to the table when they know you think you are better than them. Maybe you are differently educated, maybe you don't follow any religion or believe in God. The other side just doesn't seem as judgemental.
Differences do not make you foes as you are all Americans and what is best for each other is best for the country and vice versa.
Why not try lifting each other up instead of knocking each other down?
