Kudos for Support of MiffCo Community Tennis In a recent article in the Sentinel covering MiffCo Community Tennis, we have a fourth Youth Tennis Coach I failed to mention. His name is Gino Zannino. Gino is a Mifflin County High School Boys Tennis Team Player. In 2022, he was involved with the Locust Grove Mega Sports Vacation Bible School as one of the tennis coaches and assisted in a tennis program delivered during one of the YMCA’s summer camps. Like a broken record, hour after hour, day after day, it doesn’t matter what right-wing platform you check, endless, non-stop, TRANS PEOPLE! “The War on Drugs” To the Editor: In 1971, President Richard Nixon declared “The War on Drugs”. That was 52 years ago, and prisons today are filled to capacity with minor offense drug users, mostly blacks, and today, drugs that are stronger and more poisonous are still readily available from too many drug dealers. What happened? Perhaps too many victims didn’t listen to Nancy Reagan when she told them to “Just Say No.” The problem with “The War on Drugs” is obvious: it either imprisons the innocent victims (drug users), or it puts them into expensive drug ...

To the Editor: My 50-year-old nature club, Towpath Naturalist Society, quietly visits Old Crow Wetlands on field trips to witness interesting birds (both familiar and rare). What a peaceful and serene spot it is! How peaceful will another Rutter’s be? Old Crow was established by law as a result of another business locating nearby. It was required to protect a small part of our wetlands that are rapidly vanishing. Does anyone care? Maybe not until all the wetlands are gone! Original Thought A response to Mr. Becht’s letter in the May 24th edition of the Sentinel. Yes, conservatives are not consistent in their opinions and interpretations because unlike liberals who need a big government to lead them, we are independent thinkers.
