Play ball To the Editor: Recently on the playground there was the strangest development. All the kids that were left-handed were congregated on one side near the dugout, and all the right-handed kids were on the opposite side of the playground near the other dugout. It was a near 50/50 mix. A teacher walked to the pitcher’s mound, looked both ways and asked what was going on? People kill God’s gifts To the Editor: Today I woke up to see the glorification of the worst of humanity. In Mississippi some dumb humans are so proud of themselves for “harvesting” the largest alligator ever found. People are praising the killing of a majestic gift from God, again! Who are you people? No one is above the law To the Editor: Donald Trump is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. He has been indicted four times and charged with 91 felony counts. I believe most people will accept the verdict – guilty or not guilty – if the process is fair. Already the right is screaming that Trump has been unfairly treated.     Is this merely a weaponization of the Department of Justice by the wily democrats to interfere with the 2024 election and prevent Trump from winning the White House? Tables turn for Trump To the Editor: Well, how indictments came down on Trump this evening. One says that Trump broke the law by saying that he believed that there was fraud in the 2020 election and didn’t really believe it to be true. And, that is a crime. Two-tiered justice system To the Editor: The Western Journal, June 2021, the $1.5 million damage at the Jan. 6 Capitol riot stands in stark contrast to the estimated over $2 billion costs caused by BLM rioters. Have the perpetrators been treated the same or do we have a two-tiered justice system? Let’s look. Laws and taxes To the Editor: Are there too many laws and taxes? Think about it! For every law with a regulation that requires enforcement, some government agency is charged with that responsibility. For example, why do we have the Pennsylvania State Police, an expensive State Law Enforcement agency? Anytime that a tax law is passed, some government agency or department is responsible for collecting that tax. For example, why do we have the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue?
