God has many attributes including love To the Editor: There is much proclaimed about GOD’s love in churches today but not much about any of GOD’s other attributes. In 1 John 4:8, I find “GOD is love, This being so, means that GOD zealously loves all that is good. Because he is Holy (1Pet. 1:16) His intense love for righteousness manifests itself in an equally intense hatred of all that is evil. His love does not negate his wrath, it confirms and guarantees it. Being that GOD is also a righteous GOD he must judge wickedness and condemn it (Jer. 10:10-15). “The LORD will take ...

Trooper Cramer cares for community To the Editor: Dear Trooper Cramer, I am sorry it has taken me so long to type this note. I wanted to reiterate what I told you when we ran into each other a little more than a month ago. When I was fourteen, my father had a massive stroke, which hospitalized him for an extended time. Lottery games not a gift To the Editor: When is a gift, not a gift? When the “gift” is a chance to win a prize in a game of chance, and the odds of winning a worthwhile prize are practically zero. A lottery ticket would be an example. Unfortunately there are some people who become so addicted to the chance of winning a valuable prize that they become regular buyers of the “chance for losing” to the extent that they neglect the really important things in their lives. Did you ever hear the expression, “there’s a sucker born every minute and two to take him” ? In my ...

Drain the swamp To the Editor: In my opinion, there is some pretty clear evidence when a person reads a number of President Trump’s executive orders. Trump is using executive power to restore separation of powers in our Constitution. He is taking strides to undermine the power of the federal bureaucracy through executive actions. He truly is starting to drain the swamp. President Trump has signed orders instructing federal agencies to roll back regulations and attempting to ensure they remain accountable to the people through presidential supervision. Trump has directed agencies ...
