MCALISTERVILLE — Belleville Christian girls basketball beat Juniata Christian on Friday night, 42-9.
The Thunder (5-8, 4-4 ACAA) got nine points from Hailey Zook and Alayna Peachey. Katelyn Renno posted eight points and Izzy Weaver tallied seven.
For JCS (2-7, 2-5 ACAA), Neleh Hair had four points.
Next, BCS visits Blacklick Area High School today. JCS will host Carlisle Christian next Thursday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Colts hold off Huskies, 56-49
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County boys hoops dropped another close battle, falling 56-49 to Cedar Cliff on Friday evening.
The Huskies tried to rally with a second-half comeback after a slow start, but the Colts were able to hold off the Huskies.
Juniors Luke Bender and Jack Curry led the way with 16 points apiece.
The Huskies fall to 6-10 and look to bounce back on Tuesday when they welcome Palmyra to the Dawg Pound. JV’s tipoff is at 5:30 with varsity to follow.
The JV Huskies played their most complete game of the season, defeating Cedar Cliff 54-32.
It was an extremely balanced scoring attack, with sophomore Dylan Bonson leading the way with 17 points.
9TH GRADE
Huskies remain undefeated
LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin County girls ninth grade team beat Cedar Cliff at home, 43-17, on Friday night.
Jemma Kanagy had 16 points and Grayce Napikoski had 10.
The Huskies are now 15-0 on the season.
