LEWISTOWN — SUMMIT Early Learning is accepting applications for its free Head Start and Pre-K Counts preschool programs for the 2026-27 school year at its Lewistown and Strodes Mills locations. The full-day programs serve children ages 3 and 4 whose families meet income eligibility guidelines. ALTOONA — The Altoona Curve will receive $1.9 million in state funding to renovate the playing field at Peoples Natural Gas Field, state Rep. Andrea Verobish, R-Blair, and state Sen. Judy Ward, R-30, announced. Diamond Baseball Holdings LLC, which owns the Curve, will use the funding to remove the existing playing surface, excavate beneath the field and replace its irrigation and drainage systems.
