Yeagertown goose joins local flock
From staff reports
LEWISTOWN — The Yeagertown Fire Company landed “Booster” Friday as part of the Wild Geese: Flock Together public art project led by Community Partnerships RC&D. The landing brings the flock’s total to 52.
“Booster” was painted by artist Karl Leitzel and its name references fire engine booster hoses while the art depicts the Blue Goose, the company’s well-known first motorized apparatus, a
1936 Chevy Buffalo.
“Booster” received its all-weather sealant courtesy of Kevin Forshey and Affordable Auto Body of McClure.
This project, which recognizes our region’s Goose Day tradition, would not be possible without the generous support of the sponsors and partners, talented local artists and many other individuals.
