Appreciates support for tie-dye event

To the editor: Mifflin County Communities That Care and PAWSitive Vibes would like to offer our appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to our community for supporting the fourth annual tie-dye event held on Oct. 18 at Mifflin County High School. Youth throughout Mifflin County struggle with depression, anxiety and not feeling good enough. This event was established to highlight the very serious concerns regarding mental health and bring awareness to suicide prevention. Republicans just want to judge others

To the editor: This is in response to Mr. Sellers’ letter of Oct. 27. When reading the missive all I could think was what utter nonsense. In my eyes someone who is a Republican and a Christian at the same time is fooling themselves. First of all, the Bible teaches love for your fellow man above all else, yet when you hear the policies put forward by the GOP and just sit and hear them talk all they do is judge others, either their lifestyle or whether or not they get government assistance — which is funny when you consider that out of the top 10 states for government assistance ...

To the editor: Stephen Sellers and all you MAGA … really need to do some self reflection if it is that you think Republicans represent Christianity. Seriously, don’t make me laugh! Ramping up for Shining Light

To the editor: It is that time of year when autumn brings the crisp air and frosty mornings. It also brings the work of bringing a Christmas and Winter Wonderland to Kish Park for the annual Shining Light Through the Darkness festival. Oct. 29 kicked off that labor of love toward Mifflin County and folks living beyond the fair Juniata Valley. Our initial volunteer workforce consisted of 10-12 folks. To the editor: I would like to thank the person(s) for the big sign coming into Milroy right across from the truck stop. It has blessed me so much and instead of one or two sayings that have just added more. These sayings or quotes are all pertaining to our coming Lord and I can’t agree with them more. To the editor: With apologies to Charles Dickens … Ed Neaser was this really rich guy in town whose money came from the beer distributorship and the chain of coin laundries he owned. But you couldn’t tell he was rich, because he lived in a cheap ranch house and ran his empire from a rented office with his employee, Robert Kratz, a CPA who was good with computers. Kratz sat in his cubicle all day, putting out Ed’s profit statements and taxes and stuff.
