To the editor: I just finished looking at today’s Sentinel (Oct. 20) and decided to make a few comments. I enjoyed the two letters in the paper and agree with both authors. To the editor: A current political TV ad starts out with a view portraying an innocent pre-teen or early teen girl. The outraged mother voice-over moans about how the child isn’t old enough to drive, to vote, hasn’t been to her first prom. It then leads into the narrative that if the young girl were raped, (candidate) would force the girl to carry the resulting pregnancy to full term because (candidate) would not allow abortions under any circumstances. Vote to protect abortion rights in Pennsylvania

To the editor: I am writing as a woman well past my child-bearing years, as a Christian, and as a voter who plans to vote for Josh Shapiro for governor in order to protect women’s right to an abortion in Pennsylvania. Current law in Pennsylvania allows for abortion thru the 23rd week of pregnancy, and after that if the woman’s life is endangered by the pregnancy. To the editor: This is in response to two recent letters to the editor. Mr. Spahr’s letter of Oct. 20, concerning the clothes a person wears, basically stated that a way a person dresses should show the level of accomplishments that a person makes. Let’s look at the uniform of a hoodie and shorts and what the person wearing it has accomplished. John Fetterman became mayor of Braddock in 2006 when that town was rundown; he left the job and became the 34th Lieutenant Governor of PA in 2019.
