On Friday night at Rec Park, the Belleville Braves defeated the Belleville Brewers in the championship game, 6-5, for the Mifflin County title. MECHANICSBURG — Troy Wagaman Jr. won the Lynn Paxton Classic for the sprint cars, sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway. Wagaman, of Hanover, earned $8,000 for his second Grove win of the season in the Mike Heffner-owned No. 27. He is the defending track champion and current point leader. It wasn’t easy, however, Danny Dietrich led the 30-lap feature from the start over Wagaman. Lance Dewease was scheduled for the front row of the feature, but had to pit and change a flat tire before the green. The pair began lapping slower cars. ...
MILROY — During Reedsville’s recent four-game winning streak in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League, it has been getting good pitching. It was no different on Friday night as Reedsville edged Burnham, 6-5. The win for Reedsville (9-3) kept pace with the league-leading Beaver Springs (9-2), who beat Milroy 13-0. On Friday, the pitching star was Karter Kangey, who went the first six innings and got the win. He gave up just two runs, struck out three, walked four and gave up six hits.
