Appreciates backpack program support

To the editor: In the United States in 2021, 9 million children faced hunger. That is 1 in 8 children. When children face hunger, they are at higher risks of conditions like anemia and asthma. They are more likely to have developmental impairments, academic and behavioral problems in school, and difficulties in other social situations. This is why the Summer Backpack Program of the Juniata County Food Pantry and similar programs are vital. To the editor: I have spoken about why Doug Mastriano is a dangerous choice for Pennsylvania’s governor. I would like to speak now on why Josh Shapiro is the better choice. Under Mr. Shapiro’s leadership, the office of PA attorney general arrested more than 6,500 drug dealers, seizing 2.5 million doses of heroin and over 1.5 million doses of fentanyl.
