Can’t be a Christian and a Democrat

2 min read

To the editor:

I just finished looking at today's Sentinel (Oct. 20) and decided to make a few comments.

I enjoyed the two letters in the paper and agree with both authors.

Now for a few comments from me about the up-coming election. As I have said before I can't understand how anyone who claims to be a Christian can vote for a Democrat because of all the ungodly things that the Democrat Party believes in and supports. I am referring to abortion, promoting homosexuality, being against prayer in schools and school activities, and taking God out of any part of government, just to name a few.

There are many more in my opinion. In my opinion anyone who claims to be a Christian and can vote for a member of a party that supports ungodly things needs to spend some serious time in Bible study and prayer.

Just because you attend church does not mean that you are a Christian. First you have to be convicted by the Holy Spirit and realize that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior to be reconciled with God. Then accept the Lord Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross which paid the price for our sins, as your Savior, if you truly did that then you should have a desire to live a Godly life. If you have a desire to live a Godly life, why would you want to support ungodly things?

I urge all Christian to vote. It is not just your right but your duty and when you vote, vote the Bible.
