ALTOONA — Sheetz has been named to PEOPLE Magazine and Great Place To Work’s “Companies that Care” list for the fifth consecutive year, the Altoona-based company announced Wednesday. Sheetz ranked No. 73 on this year’s list, which recognizes U.S. companies for their workplace culture, support of employees and commitment to their communities. Commissioners accept director of elections’ resignation
MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata County Commissioners approved the 2027 resignation of Juniata County Voter Registrar/Director of Elections Eva Weyrich on Tuesday morning. Effective as of the end of business on Dec. 31, 2027, Weyrich will step down from her position. She will have been a director for roughly 40 1/2 years by the time she retires next year. According to Weyrich, she hopes her early resignation submission will allow Juniata County Commissioners plenty of time to hire the right person for Weyrich to train before her departure. Life Lion adds new helicopter to fleet
HERSHEY — Penn State Health Life Lion Critical Care Transport has added a new helicopter to its fleet to expand access to emergency and specialty care across central Pennsylvania. The Airbus H155 will be stationed at Life Lion’s Lancaster base and joins two other H155 helicopters. Unclaimed property event set for Wednesday LEWISTOWN — The Pennsylvania Treasury will host an Unclaimed Property Event from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce. Treasury staff will be available to help residents search for unclaimed property, begin claims and answer questions. More than one in 10 Pennsylvanians has unclaimed property, which can include old bank accounts, uncashed paychecks, insurance payments and rebates.
