ALTOONA -- Sheetz has been named to PEOPLE Magazine and Great Place To Work's "Companies that Care" list for the fifth consecutive year, the Altoona-based company announced Wednesday.
Sheetz ranked No. 73 on this year's list, which recognizes U.S. companies for their workplace culture, support of employees and commitment to their communities. It marks the sixth time in seven years that Sheetz has received the recognition.
The company cited its employee benefits and community programs, including Sheetz For the Kidz, its partnership with Feeding America and its longtime support of Special Olympics.
The "Companies that Care" rankings were based on more than 1.3 million employee survey responses and company data representing the experiences of more than 7.3 million U.S. employees.
The recognition follows Sheetz's inclusion earlier this year on Forbes' inaugural "America's Largest Family Businesses" list, where the company ranked No. 45.
