WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service is asking selected producers to complete the USDA’s annual County Agricultural Production Survey. United States cattle inventory up slightly

WASHINGTON — There were 94.2 million head of cattle and calves on U.S. farms as of July 1, 2026, according to the Cattle report published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. LEWISTOWN — August has been unusually wet across the Juniata River Valley, but the heaviest rainfall has been concentrated in pockets, including around Lewistown, where precipitation is approaching levels rarely seen this time of year. A Lewistown climate station recorded 8.93 inches of precipitation through Sunday, according to preliminary data compiled by the Iowa Environmental Mesonet.
