Sadie Peachey Happy birthday to Elias, Lydia today, and nephew Jonas on the 29th. We're still having lovely October weather, bright blue skies, frosty mornings, though. I don't think there was a lot this morning, though. I went for a walk one evening up to the woods, and the chipmunks scolded me since it was where they and the squirrels were gathering nuts. JoAnn Plank Greetings everyone. It's hard to believe we are at the end of October already. These little ghosts and goblins have their costumes ready for a great night of trick-or-treating. We had so much fun with four little boys ages two months to four years. Really ...

Since the beginning of November, we can start looking forward to the holiday season. The stores are starting to shine with Christmas trees and all the decorations. First, we have to get Thanksgiving in there with all the great food, but to ...

OUTDOORS: Active deer put hunters and vehicle drivers on alert by David Thompson Now that November has arrived, white-tailed deer have more on their minds than finding acorns and other treats in the woods. What has their attention is their annual breeding season that is underway. Known as rutting season, breeding takes priority; deer will not forget to grab snacks during their free time. An antlered buck begins to prepare for the rut in summer by shedding the velvet that covers his antlers. Shedding is triggered by the decrease in sunlight that affects a buck’s pineal ...
