Happy birthday to Elias, Lydia today, and nephew Jonas on the 29th. We’re still having lovely October weather, bright blue skies, frosty mornings, though. I don’t think there was a lot this morning, though. I went for a walk one evening up to the woods, and the chipmunks scolded me since it was where they and the squirrels were gathering nuts. Tiny hickory nuts and some other kind. So it must be that there are nuts around or that the late spring frost didn’t get them all. We still didn’t get any to pick out, but then I don’t think the black walnuts are as plentiful as last year.
The weddings are in full swing now, one every Tuesday and Thursday. Relatives of Vernon and Katie Peachey of New York want to go up to attend a wedding there tomorrow. I’ve heard no names as to who was marrying. Neighbor Donnie and some children want to go, so others will help do their chores, milking cows and the calf barn. Their school children can help too.
