LEWISTOWN — Charges have been filed after a mid-week fire in Lewistown that resulted in one death and several others being injured. According to reports, Robert Zimmerman, 40, of Lewistown has been charged on several counts, including arson.

Crews responded to a fire at a residence on the 200 block of Bratton Avenue in Lewistown just before midnight Wednesday. Authorities say a 44-year-old woman was found dead inside the structure. Her identity has not been released. Another woman and a man were inside the house. They were both flown for treatment.

Zimmerman was identified by witnesses and placed at the scene prior to the fire. Reports say he was upset over a romantic rejection and was heard admitting to starting the blaze. Zimmerman was located at his home and questioned by police. After being treated at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital for a suspected opioid overdose, Zimmerman was placed in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
