Wildcats maul Huskies, 15-3

LEWISTOWN — Central Mountain rolled by Mifflin County during Thursday’s softball game, 15-3.
The Wildcats (10-4) got three RBIs from Elise McKean and Camdyn Weaver. They also had three hits apiece.
Aubrey Miller posted three hits. Cirstyn Watson and Aubrey Eiler each corralled two hits.
The Huskies (3-13) got two hits from Bailey Wyland and Ava Baker.
Carly Dickson and Baker each had one RBI. Baker added a double.
Central had 16 hits and three errors. The Huskies posted nine hits and two errors.
Central had five runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
The Huskies scored twice in the fifth and once in the third.
The Huskies host Central Dauphin today at 4:15 p.m. Then, Mifflin County visits Cumberland Valley on Monday and DuBois next Thursday.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Eagles storm past Huskies, 21-0
LEWISTOWN — On Thursday, Mifflin County girls lacrosse fell to Cumberland Valley, 21-0, during their last home game of the 2026 season.
Mifflin County did much better against Cumberland Valley than the last time the team played against them. Issabella Snyder had one shot on goal. Joshlyn Tate had three saves on goal and Sophie Heider had four saves on goal. It is also worthy to note that Sophie Heider has made over 100 saves on goal this season. Her total as of this game is: 113 saves.
It was also Senior Night for the Huskies. The seniors were recognized for their hard work this season. Seniors included were: No. 1 Issabella Snyder, No. 6 Krista Whitesel, No. 9 Lorynn Knepp, No. 11 Lia Barahona, No. 15 Zoey Foltz, No. 20 Adin Reese, No. 21 Alex Rupert, No. 22 Ava Kelly, No. 29 Joshlyn Tate, No. 33 Emmah Miller, No. 34 Linsey Wagner.
Huskies coach Robert Nulton stated, “I am grateful for the opportunity to have been able to coach these amazing young ladies. They have been fun to work with. While I know that this season may not have been one that has been easy for them due to the number of losses we have sustained against some well-trained teams, they have still shown up time and time again. For that, I am truly grateful, and it is a testament to their character and the kind of adults they are about to become. It has been my honor and privilege to have had this year to coach and work with them. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
BASEBALL
Blackhawks rout Tigers
DUNCANNON — Susquenita dropped East Juniata on Thursday, 13-1.
The Blackhawks scored seven times in the first three frames and six times in the fourth inning. They also tallied 10 hits with two errors.
EJ had three hits and five errors.
The Tigers scored once in the second frame.
EJ is now 0-16 and will face Juniata today at 4:30.
Newport nudges Juniata
MIFFLINTOWN — Newport baseball topped Juniata on Thursday, 6-4.
The Indians are now 6-10 on the year.
Quentin Houtz had two RBIs and Caleb Auker went 3-for-4 with one ribbie.
Daylyn Kennedy tacked on two hits and scored a run. Cam Bargo got a hit and scored a run.
On the mound, Kennedy tossed six innings, gave up seven hits, five runs (three earned), walked three and had four punchouts.
Juniata plays East Juniata today.

Indians, Tigers battle in TVL meet
DUNCANNON — Greenwood placed first (156 points) on the boys side during the TVL Championships on Wednesday. Meanwhile, on the girls side, Susquenita — the host school — finished in first place (164 points).
Juniata boys placed third (103 points) as their girls team placed fifth (36 points).
East Juniata boys finished sixth (54 points) and their girls team was fourth (52 points).
Juniata coach Shari Miller said, “It was a nice night for a track meet. I am proud of all the kids with the way they performed tonight. We had several people who walked away with personal best performances. Carolyn and Sylvia placed in all of their events today. David Mayall-Marker, Jasper Shepps, and Alex Armstrong placed in all of their events. Jasper broke the meet record in the high jump and 300 hurdles. Jasper was named the MVP for the track events. Alex Armstrong was named the MVP for field events.”

BASEBALL
Huskies edge Eagles
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County baseball topped Cumberland Valley, 11-10, on Wednesday evening.
After the Eagles rallied with five runs in the sixth, the Huskies tallied the winning run in the seventh frame for a walk-off victory.
Pitcher Madden Weaver had two RBIs and two walks for the Huskies. Easton Lepley smacked a home run and had three RBIs. Karl Shirey and Weaver each had a double. Shirey was 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Chase Leister, Thad Gerwick and Reese Christine each tallied one RBI.
On the mound, Gerwick got the win. He went one and one-third innings, allowed one hit, no runs, one walk and had one strikeout.
The Huskies (11-5) visit Central Dauphin at 4:15 today.
