GRANVILLE — A lack of legal counsel prompted township officials to cancel a planning meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening.

In a classified advertisement published in The Sentinel, township officials said the board “did not anticipate the need to secure new legal representation,” calling the situation an unforeseen circumstance that temporarily affected the township’s ability to proceed with the meeting.

“We understand and appreciate the public’s frustration regarding this delay,” the

notice stated.

The cancellation comes amid growing public attention surrounding speculation that a data center could potentially be located in the township. Residents have voiced concerns on social media in recent weeks regarding what they describe as a lack of transparency from township officials about the possibility of such a project.

Officials have not publicly confirmed that a data center proposal has been submitted or approved.

Attempts to reach the township Tuesday afternoon were not immediately successful.

Starting at $2.99/week.
