Calendar
The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.
Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.
Please be brief and include only basic details. If possible, provide a phone number or email address to be published with contact information.

Sunday
• Memorial Day church service — 9 a.m., Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, 38 Walnut St., Belleville. The public is invited. Veterans can meet at 8:30 a.m. in the church basement for light refreshments prior to the service.
• Beavertown Historical Society Museum — open 1 to 3 p.m., Beavertown Borough building, 111 W. Walnut St., Beavertown. Feature display will be musical groups, including Davy Jones. For information, contact Karen Burns at (570) 658-7385.
• Memorial Day service —
2 p.m., American Legion Post 942, McClure. Light refreshments served following the service.
Monday
• Memorial Day service — 9 a.m., Middlecreek Area Community YMCA, Beaver Springs.
• Memorial Day parade and service — 9:30 a.m. The parade forms at St. John’s Lutheran Church at the west end of Belleville and proceeds to Stroup-Alexander VFW Post 5935 on Main Street. The memorial service starts at the conclusion of the parade at the post home.
• Job Club — 10 a.m. to noon, Mifflin County CareerLink, MCIDC Plaza Building 58. Attendees can search for jobs, tailor resumes, apply for jobs and learn how to get jobs.
• Memorial Day service — 10 a.m, Reliance Hose Company, Middleburg.
• Vira Community Memorial Day service — 10 a.m., Vira United Methodist Church, 107 Long Ln., Lewistown. The speaker will be Rev. Josh Randolf. Also participating in the program will be Rev. Michael Bailey, Rev. Graham Fowler, Rev. Mark Hill, Dixie Goss, Preston Goss, Issac Coldren of BSA Troop 4 and Aiden Goss of BSA Troop 106.
