Judith A. ‘Judy’ Walter

Judith A. “Judy” Walter, 77, of Mifflintown, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born on July 10, 1948 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late William E. Taylor and Margaret I. (Landis) Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Paul Walter and companion, Nancy Dressler, Christine Walter and companion, Larry Bassler Sr., Lester Walter and companion, Jen Fisher, a grandson, Palmer Walter and wife, Rita, all of Mifflintown and Stanley Sullivan, Jr. and wife, Michaela, who was like a grandson to her. She is also survived by siblings, Margaret (Peggy) Myers and husband, Burt, of Mifflin, Mary Good, of Elizabethtown, William Taylor and wife, Kathie, of Tyrone and Dorothy Peiffer and husband, Dennison, of Lewistown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Taylor in infancy.

She was a member of Mexico United Methodist Church, Mexico, PA. Judy was a homemaker who loved gardening and doing puzzles, the more pieces the better and baking for everyone. Everybody loved her Christmas cookies.

Public Graveside Services will take place at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Union Memorial Gardens, William Penn Highway, Mifflintown with Pastor Gerald Miller officiating.

There will be viewing from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Walter’s memory can be made to Boys Town, P.O. Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
