Tuscarora Junior High School collects 258 stockings for soldiers

MIFFLINTOWN — The social studies and special education classrooms at Tuscarora Junior High School in Mifflintown hoped to collect 100 pairs of stockings for the Stockings for Soldiers project this holiday season. Instead, students and teacher Karen Crossley collected a total of 258 pairs of stockings to deliver. The numbers were announced during the Juniata County School District Board of Directors meeting on Thursday night at the administration building in Mifflintown. Donations will also include granola bars, Slim Jims, beef jerky, chewing gum, mints, fruit snacks, trail mix and nuts, popcorn, flavored drink mixes, pocket games, crossword and Sudoku books and stockings.
