EAST WATERFORD — The agricultural industry has played a vital role in the history of Juniata County, especially the East Waterford region. Tuscarora Valley Heritage Days was founded 37 years ago to honor and preserve that cherished history.

The 37th Annual Tuscarora Valley Heritage Days are slated for July 17 to 20 at 6201 Route 75 South in East Waterford.

“The officers extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the vendors, attendees, demonstrators and helpers who contribute to the success of the show,” Tuscarora Valley Heritage Days officials said in a press release.

“Your unwavering support for the Tuscarora Valley Heritage Days organization and the cherished preservation of our history is truly appreciated,” officials added.

Heritage Days also marks the start of the fairs and festivals season throughout the Juniata Valley, culminating with McClure Bean Soup Festival and Fair in September.

This year’s daily schedule at Heritage Days includes:

Thursday, July 17

4 p.m.: Kitchen and flea market open; barbecue chicken halves available

5 p.m.: Benefit and consignment sale

Friday, July 18

7:30 to 11 a.m.: Kitchen open

8 a.m.: Flea market opens

11 a.m.: Vendor food stands open

4 p.m.: Barbecue chicken meals ready

5 p.m.: Kids pedal tractor pulls

6 to 9 p.m.: Square dancing with Paddle Wheel; and line dancing in main building by Keepin’ It Simple Band

6:30 p.m.: Tractor parade

7 p.m.: Garden tractor racing

Saturday, July 19

7:30 to 11 a.m.: Kitchen open

8 a.m.: Flea market opens

8:30 a.m.: Tractor parade

9 a.m.: Horseshoe tournament; and kids and antique tractor games until 5 p.m.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Petting zoo

11:30 a.m.: Tractor parade

12 p.m.: Ham pot pie meals ready

1 p.m.: Antique tractor pulls at grandstands

5:30 p.m.: Tractor parade

6 to 8 p.m.: Music in main building with Broken Record Band

Sunday, July 20

7:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Kitchen open

8 a.m.: Flea market opens

9:30 a.m.: Church service by Jim Neimond

12 p.m.: Chinese auction and Henry Gun drawings
