Refuse schedule changed for Memorial Day
LEWISTOWN -- Refuse and recycling pickup schedules in Lewistown Borough will be adjusted due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Officials said customers who normally receive refuse pickup on Mondays will instead have pickup on Tuesday. All other refuse routes will remain on their regular schedules.
Residents with Monday recycling service are reminded their recycling materials will be collected on the next scheduled recycling day, June 8.
The Sentinel seeking summermemories for special edition
LEWISTOWN -- The Sentinel is accepting submissions for its 2026 "I Remember When" special edition.
This year's theme is "favorite summer traditions," including memories of picnics, ballgames, family reunions, vacations, fireworks, carnivals, amusement parks, swimming holes and other summertime activities.
Readers may submit written memories or personal photographs. Email submissions and JPEG images are preferred. Submissions should include names, locations, dates, if available, and a brief description.
Entries may be emailed to Lifestyles Editor Tom Laub at living@lewistownsentinel.com or submitted through the newspaper's virtual newsroom at The Sentinel.
The deadline for submissions is June 17.
