Officials approve personnel changes

MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata County Commissioners Tuesday approved two personnel changes among other business.

Hope Lewis resigned from her position as the full-time Fiscal Technician Supervisor within Juniata County Children and Youth Services effective Jan. 27, 2025.

Commissioners also approved the hiring of April Yoder as a Domestic Relations Section Caseworker effective Feb. 10, 2025, as recommended by Abby Ingle, domestic relations section director. Yoder replaces Shanel Eaton who resigned effective as of the end of business on Dec. 6, 2024.

Yoder’s position is important to the courthouse because she is responsible for managing cases related to child support, spousal support, paternity establishment, and enforcing court orders regarding these matters by locating absent parents, calculating support amounts, and taking necessary legal actions to collect payments when needed.

• Approved a Certification Statement – County Children & Youth Social Service Programs for the period of Oct. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2024, as submitted by the Children & Youth Fiscal Department;

• Accepted the Juniata County Rights and Services Act and Victims of Juvenile Offenders Services 2025-2026 Subgrant Award Notification as recommended by Sylvia Middaugh, Victim Witness Program Coordinator;

• Approved payment of the following Juniata County Hazardous Materials check in the amount of $180 to Richfield Volunteer Fire Company for Training Reimbursement;

• Approved JCM Communications, Inc. to provide upgraded fiber optic cable for the Third Street Annex at a cost of $4,720.22;

• Approved a Letter of Support for Centre WISP’s application for Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment funding;

• Approved payment of checks in the amount of $144,109.93.
