Fire on Pannebaker displaces residents

LEWISTOWN — Emergency responders were called to a residence on Pannebaker Avenue where heavy smoke was reportedly being emitted.
Lewistown Fire Department Chief Patrick Shoop Jr. reported that when crews arrived at the mobile home at 7 p.m. Sunday, they initially encountered heavy fire, which was quickly extinguished within about 15 minutes.
Shoop saidcrews had additional time on scene overhauling the contents of the residence, and remained on site until about 8:30 p.m.
Those who resided in the 26 Pannebaker Ave. home have been displaced. As of the time of publication, it was unclear how many lived in the home. The American Red Cross has been called to assist.
Shoop said one firefighter was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital to be treated for a minor injury.

The State Police Fire Marshal’s office at the Lewistown Barracks was contacted to handle the investigation of the incident.
Assisting City Hook and Ladder and Heritage Fire Co. at the scene were Chief Logan Fire Co, Yeagertown Fire Co, Junction Fire Co, West Granville Fire Co, Fame EMS and local fire police.
