BURNHAM — A beer distributor formerly known as Captain Jack’s Distributing on Logan Boulevard, is now under new ownership.

The former owners of Captains Jack’s, The Judy Family from Centre County were going out of business when Aj Patel and his family were looking for something in the area when fate stepped in and this location became the perfect spot for Patel.

AJ’s Beer Distributor opened its doors last month, offering more than 500 varieties of beer with hopes of expanding to 2,000 varieties of beer in the near future.

Patel, gutted and revamped the space; he renamed the location AJ’s Beer Distributor.

The owner, Aj Patel, of State College, has a total of four distribution locations.

AJ’s Beer Distributor differentiates itself from Captain Jack’s. First Patel and his team moved the office spaces creating a more spacious floor plan and got rid of the dry cooler. Captain Jack’s was only using about 2,000 of the 6,000 square feet they had to work with whereas Aj’s is optimizing 4,000 square feet which increases the amount of beers and other items they offer.

Unlike Captain Jack’s, Aj’s Beer Distributor offers tobacco products as well as beer and they have future plans currently in process to offer other items such as lottery tickets, snack items and a skills machine by next summer. Aj Patel hopes to be a one stop shop and from the sounds of it he’s well on that way.
