Beaver Springs soars over McVeytown, 17-4

MCVEYTOWN — Beaver Springs moved another stop closer to the top of the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League with a 17-4 win over McVeytown on Tuesday. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Springs (4-1) jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed. The Springs had three doubles in the first. River Knepp, Haven Bridge and Colton Aumiller each had a run producing double in the first.
Beaver Springs had 14 hits with Knepp and Aumiller each getting three. Knepp had a big day with a three-run homer in the second and finished with three runs scored and four RBI’s. Maverick Smith and Bridge each had two hits. Bridge knocked in two runs. Connor Riches also had a two-run double in the second.
McVeytown (0-2) had three hits and scored four runs in the fifth inning. Easton Stonerook had two hits and Crosby Sunderland had a single in the fifth.
Beaver Springs used four pitchers. Bridge got the start and the win and gave up one hit and struck out five in two innings. Springs also used Dale Davidson, Brayden Herbster and Vance Gregg on the mound
LEWISTOWN WINS BY FORFEIT
LEWISTOWN–On Friday, May 15, Belleville defeated Lewistown, 14-7. But, the game was forfeited to Lewistown because Belleville used an ineligible pitcher. Lewistown is now 4-1 and Belleville is now 2-2.
